A slight variant on the debut Q1, the McQuaide Q1-B features a full Damascus Steel caseback.

The McQuaide Q1-B Crimson is unique one-of-a-kind timepiece. No two cases share the same striking patterns.

Measuring 43.2mm wide and 15mm thick, the McQuaide Q1-B Crimson balances rugged durability with refined design. A 120-click unidirectional bezel with BGW9 Super-LumiNova and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal ensure clarity in any condition.

The McQuaide Q1b Crimson is powered by a Swiss Sellita SW200-1 movement, pressure-tested to 100 ATM, and equipped with a helium escape valve, it delivers precision and reliability.

This isn’t just a watch, the McQuaide Q1-B Crimson is a statement of individuality.

Brass Guilloché with Date Window    

A masterpiece of intricate craftsmanship, the Guilloché technique involves engraving repetitive patterns on the dial surface, creating texture, depth, and a dance of reflections as the watch is tilted.     

Our sweeping second hand features a distinctive 'claw' shape and a bold red tip.

BGW9 white emission Super-LumiNova is applied to the hands and indices. An elegant white in daylight, in low light it delivers a crisp blue-green luminescence for unparalleled visibility.

Bezel

Unidirectional rotating Bezel with 120 clicks

The rotating bezel enables the monitoring of elapsed time when diving. The fact it can only rotate in one direction means the remaining time thus shown can only be decreased, for safety.

Do you use genuine Damascus Steel?

Yes, McQuaide is proud to be the only UK watch brand dedicated to Damascus Steel. This is forged, not laser engraved not printed. You can learn about the forging process in this blog here.

What is Damascus Steel?

Damascus Steel is a unique metal known for its
distinctive undulating patterns, exceptional durability, and historical
significance. It dates back over 2,000 years, originally used for forging
some of the sharpest and strongest swords in history.

It's created by forging two alloys together,  one with a higher nickel content than the
other, then etching the steel in an acid called ferric chloride. This corrodes
the higher-nickel alloy at a different rate, revealing the distinctive
undulating pattern.

What steels are used in McQuaide Damascus Steel?

The McQuaide Damascus Steel is made up on 316L and 304L stainless steels.

Will the Damascus Steel pattern rust or fade over time?

No — the pattern is an inherent part of the steel itself,
not a surface coating. It will remain visible for the lifetime of the watch.

Our Damascus Steel is forged from two stainless steels, so
rusting isn't a concern. Rob wears the original prototype daily, and it's been
through open water swimming, coasteering, skiing and rock climbing to prove its durability.
